Last updated: June 2026. Ethos is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Information we collect

When you create an account and use Ethos, we collect:

Account information: your email address and encrypted password, stored via Supabase Auth
Subscription data: your plan tier, subscription status, and Stripe customer ID
Tool inputs: text you submit to the tools (contracts, process descriptions, newsletter topics) for the purpose of generating a response
Payment information: handled entirely by Stripe — we never see or store your card details

How we use your information

To provide and operate the Ethos service
To manage your subscription and process payments through Stripe
To generate AI-powered output from your tool inputs via the Anthropic API
To send transactional emails (account confirmation, billing receipts)

Tool inputs and AI processing

Text you submit to our tools is sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate a response. We do not store your tool inputs after a response is returned. Anthropic's own privacy policy governs how they handle data sent to their API.

Third-party services

Ethos uses the following third-party services to operate:

Supabase — database and user authentication
Stripe — subscription billing and payment processing
Anthropic — AI-generated tool output
Render — application hosting and serving

Each service has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data.

Cookies and local storage

Ethos stores a single session token in your browser's localStorage to keep you logged in. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics scripts.

Data retention

We retain your account and subscription data for as long as your account is active. If you cancel and request account deletion, we will remove your personal data within 30 days.

Your rights

You have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate information
Request deletion of your account and associated data
Opt out of any non-transactional communications

Data security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. All data is transmitted over HTTPS.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. For material changes, we'll notify you by email or by posting a notice on the site. Continued use of Ethos after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
